Climb the north shore
Perhaps you’ve seen the fearless rock climbers attempting a seep climb up Palisade Head and thought, wow! That’s crazy! Maybe so, but adventurous climbers love the North Shore for its rugged, rocky Lake Superior cliffs. If scaling the bluffs seems too scary, no worries. Lake County has options!
Send it with a Guided Rock Climb
Daring thrill-seekers can rock climb Shovel Point or Palisade Head in Tettegouche State Park in Silver Bay. Guides can take you out and show you the “ropes.” Positive Energy Outdoors leads world-class outdoor adventure activities in Duluth and on the North Shore of Lake Superior. They offer a half-day guided rock climb up Shovel Point in Tettegouche State Park.
Visit the North Shore Adventure Park
For family-friendly climbing on the North Shore, visit this one-of-a-kind forest adventure park in Silver Bay.
It features ten zip lines, six challenge courses, and a “Little Climbers Park” designed for 3- to 6-year-olds. If you don’t care to climb, you can watch for free. We recommend spending three hours at the park.
Tickets can be purchased online (mid-May-October) at NorthShoreAdventurePark.com.
