Canoeing & Kayaking
Home Explore Lake County Outdoor Adventures Canoeing & Kayaking
"Love many, trust few, but always paddle your own canoe."
Both canoeing and kayaking are great ways to get out on the water and exercise. You will find numerous places in Lake County for you to paddle around.
For those who own their kayaks, the Two Harbors public boat launch on Lake Superior offers a kayak launch, which makes getting your kayak in the water safe and easy.
If you don’t own a kayak, you can rent one! Harbor Kayak & Paddleboard Rental operates on the beach of Burlington Bay in Two Harbors and offers customers the opportunity to take kayaks and paddleboards out on Lake Superior.
Canoeing & the Boundary Waters
Some lakes and islands are only accessible via canoe in the remote northern part of Lake County. The Boundary Waters alone boasts 1,200 miles of routes to paddle and offers endless wilderness to discover.
