The North Shore is the best place to find the most unique rocks in the county. In lake county Minnesota there is no shortage on rocks. Whether you’re looking for chert, Agates, basalt, or porphyry the North Shore offers it all. Come on up and start Rockhounding!
Rocks are plentiful around Lake Superior and you will find new ones every day as the wave crash the shore. Be sure to stop at all nine major beaches in Lake County to better your odds of finding the rare rock you have been searching for.
