Join Park Naturalist on a peaceful, quiet hike to Lake Superior along the Gooseberry River. As we walk along the River View trail (approximately 1.75 mile round trip) we will use our senses to enjoy birds and other wildlife. During this time of day, we may see warblers foraging, bald eagles, waterfowl, deer, beaver, and otter in the river valley.
This path is packed gravel and clay. The majority of the trail is flat but there are some steeper slopes towards the lake. You may borrow a pair of binoculars for this hike.
Meet inside the visitor center West doors, near the wayside rest bathrooms. Free parking in the wayside rest lot near the visitor center is available.
