Crystal Bay Beach & Sea Cave
Address
8RX7+4H7 Illgen City, MN
Just north along 61 and past the HWY 1 junction, the cobblestone Crystal Bay Beach provides a scenic view of one of Lake Superior’s largest sea caves and towering cliffs to the south. Once occupied by 3M as an exploratory mineral mine, tiny remnants remain from the old foundation. To access the beach, park near mile marker 60, and you’ll find an area you can pull off and park. A narrow, steep rocky trail (it can be slippery when wet) leads to the beach area.
