C.J. Ramstad North Shore State Snowmobile Trail
The C.J. Ramstad North Shore State Snowmobile Trail is a 146-mile groomed trail system that tames northern Minnesota’s wild, rugged terrain.
Leaving Duluth, the C.J. Ramstad North Shore Snowmobile Trail follows a lateral path through state and national forest backwoods and travels along the cliffs of Lake Superior until it reaches its final destination, Grand Marais.
The snowmobile course offers various entry points in Lake County:
- Two Harbors Alger Grade parking area: Located 9 miles north of Two Harbors on County Road 2. Get Directions
- Silver Bay parking area: Located on Superior National Forest Road #11, 7 miles west of Silver Bay. Get Directions
- Finland parking area: The trailhead is 2 miles north of Finland, on County Road 7. Get Directions
A portion of the trail in Lake County also permits ATVs.
